DIY Homemade Nourishing Hair Conditioners

It's so easy to care for your thirsty dry stresses in this winter weather by using home-made deep conditioners. You can find these items in your kitchen cabinet, or hit up your local grocery store. Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions on keeping your hair moisturized all year round.

Here are some other at-home hair conditioners:

1/2 Ripe Avocado
1 tablespoon Olive oil
1 egg
* Mash (or blend) the avocado with the olive oil and raw egg. Spread throughout your hair, focusing on your ends. Cover with a shower cap for 30 mins. Rinse with cool water, then shampoo with a nourishing shampoo.  Deep condition after for maximum nourishment.

4 drops Rosemary oil
2 teaspoons Almond oil
1/2 Ripe Papaya
1/2 Ripe Avocado
1/4 Squeezed Lemon Juice
1/2 cup water
* Massage the scalp with the almond oil for 2 mins. Then mash (or blend) the papaya, avocado, water and squeezed lemon juice. Place the mixture in a bowl and put the rosemary oil in it. Mix together well then apply to hair. Cover with a shower cap for 15-30 mins. Rinse with cool water, then shampoo with a nourishing shampoo.  Deep condition after for maximum nourishment.

Note: You can skip the shampoo part and just do the deep conditioner if there is no fruit residue in your hair after rinsing the masks out.

Tips: Shampoo your roots only. Condition your hair from the ears and down to your ends. Placing conditioner on the scalp clogs pores and stunts the growth of your hair. Also, don't wash hair with hot water; it can dry your hair out and cause flaky scalp. Rinse your hair with very cool water to seal the cuticle after you wash out the shampoo or conditioner. Always try to massage your scalp with a light oil such as jojoba oil or grape seed oil to stimulate the blood flow to the roots of your hair.
