Is Your Hair Fried and Dyed? Bring It Back To Life!!

Way too many people (especially my girls!) use harsh chemicals in their hair. The over processing of the hair can make it look dry, feel brittle, and become fried! Whether you use relaxers, perms, or color, too much of it can affect your beautiful strands. When you use ammonia and peroxide-based ingredients, you are stripping your natural color from your hair, breaking down the hair shaft, and damaging your tresses. But, there's hope!

The road to recovery depends on the hair treatments you use to bring your weakened locks back to life. First, you want to be sure to use sulfate-free shampoos, as other shampoos tend to leave hair very dry due to the ingredients used to make those bouncy suds!. Moisture-rich shampoos target these problems with the use of emollients and hydrating conditioners.

Shampoo Recommendations: Kiehl's Chamomile Shampoo,
Crème of Nature Moisturizing Shampoo, Tresemme Moisture Rich Shampoo, Frederic Fekkai Shea Butter Shampoo, SheaMoisture Moisture Retention Shampoo, Organix Argan Oil Shampoo, Moroccan Oil Moisture Repair Shampoo

Tip: To boost your shampoo add a few drops of Wheat Germ Oil to the mix as you apply the shampoo to your scalp.

Conditioners tame, de-frizz, and smooth out overly processed hair. Quick-fix conditioners usually say to leave the product on your hair for only 3-10 mins, while deep conditioners need to stay on your strands for 30-60 mins to work its magic. I recommend using quick fix conditioners once a week to bring life back to your hair, and deep conditioners once every 3-4 weeks, depending on the severity of the damage. Some people skip shampoos all together, and just "co-wash" their hair, which is the process of using only conditioners to wash the hair. Although this keeps the hair nourished, the ingredients in conditioners can build up on the hair over time. If you are a fan of co-washing, then be sure to use a clarifying shampoo once every 2 months to thoroughly clean your hair and scalp.

Quick-Fix Recommendations: Nexxus Humectant, Aussie 3-min Miracle, Paul  Mitchell Awapuhi Moisture Mist, Klorane Mango Conditioner, Crème of Nature Moisturizing Conditioner, Sachajuan Dry Hair Conditioner, Organix  Argan Oil Conditioner

Deep Conditioner Recommendations: Ouidad Deep Treatment, ORS Replenishing Pak, Argan Oil Moisturizing Conditioner, Peter Hans Nourishing Conditioner, BioSilk Deep Conditioner, Sachajuan Hair Repair

Tip: If your hair lacks moisture, use a moisturizing conditioner, and if its limp, use a protein-based conditioner.

Now that you have the tools to keep your crown soft, shiny, and nourished, go out there and turn heads!

Stay Beautiful!
